Carnival Luminosa Day 6: April 18, 2023 Suva Fiji
I woke up at 6AM today and went up to the top decks to watch us pull into port. I also found some poorly marked secret passageways on the ship.
I grabbed a coffee and headed down to rhe Java blue Cafe and that is where I learned about the buy 6 get one 1 free coffee card. I will have to do the math to see what that works out to.
I worked on sudoku until the burrito buffet opened up and then grabbed a burrito before heading to my stateroom and ordering room service. Today was not as lucky as in Noumea because they said 20 to 30 minutes and they meant it. I ordered at 740 and it never arrived.
At 810 there was announcement that we were running a bit late getting into port and that everyone should wait in public areas. I called to check on breakast and they said it was on the way.
At 815 there was another announcement that we could now get off the ship on front and mid ship on deck A. That said, elevators only go down to deck 1. At 830, I called again to check and it was still on the way. I went to the buffet and grabbed a burrito and coffee. At 9M, I called and cancelled my order. She said it was still on the way.

I got off in Suva and walked to a few of the shops. There were some very cheap 3 hour tours in vans. I had already been to the jungle waterfall and swimming so I stayed local. I was shocked at how poor they were. One of the locals suggested I carry my backpack on the front.
It was very humid and before long the sky darkened so I headed back to the ship before a huge rain and windstorm. The grocery stores and many of the shops wanted me to leave my backpack at the entrance and security seemed very sketchy. On the other hand, if I had wanted to buy dresses or shirts there were some great deals on hand stitched clothes.

I had a chicken sandwich from the grill and took pictures of the other lumch options. I am very underwhelmed by the food choices on this ship. I went to the BBQ place and put Cole slaw and ulled pork on the chicken. It was still not even equal to a discount fast food chain.
I went back to the stateroom and took a nap. I watched some home improvement shows on HGTV and some wildlife shows on Nat Geo.
They delivered chocolate covered strawberries for my afternoon snack.
For dinner, I ordered Lamb Kofka, Turkey with Gravy and Brussel sprouts, and rhubarb crisp for dessert. The Lamb was dry and I ate only one. The turkey was good and dessert was good.
Tonight's show was a comedian juggler and it was entertaining but just ok. After the show, I headed straight to the buffet to try to get some buffet pictures to try to show the limited options available to me.
I headed back to the stateroom to take pictures of the movie listings on the TV so I can better plan my days. I'm really hoping Carnival steps up on the activities or this could be a very boring 3 more weeks.
Happy Cruising!
