Carnival Luminosa Day 11: April 22, 2023 Moorea

Woke.up at 645 and headed down to pick up a shuttle ticket for the tender in Moorea.
Tickets run in categories every 45 minutes. Only ticket 20 and on were available by the time I got there. You had to take a ticket for everyone in your room and it was honor system just a board with tickets. What could go wrong?
Shuttle 3 called at 730.
The island is beautiful but it is hot and sticky this time of year. I looked on All trails and there are many options depending on where we actually land the tender. I played my $5 through the slot machine and won $6 so I will get to play another day.
I grabbed the sudoku puzzle and headed for my stateroom to wait for room service to arrive.
It arrived at 820 which was fine since my ticket was at 10AM. Note that the order was otherwise perfect.
Tenders were much speedier than expected and they called all numbers at 945 which was about 90 minutes early. I headed to the tender dock and took a lot of pictures.
It was very possible to get a 3 to 4 hour tour for $50 to $60. I considered doing a small hike but I would have had to walk 1km on the road and it was starting to rain. Many passengers went to the little variety store close by. I heard there was more shopping about a 30 minute walk along the road. Instead, I hopped back on the tender and back to the ship.
I absolutely love Moorea and the hiking is spectacular. However, this time with the heat and humidity I just wasn't inspired this time. It helps me.underdstand how important it is to not only choose specific cruise ports but also to choose the best season to visit them.
I ordered escargo, lamb, and cheesecake for dessert. Dinner was good and went quickly.
I headed to the theater to get a good seat. Tonight, the entertainer was a Broadway singer  named Chuck Wagner. He sang songs from throughout his career and wrapped up with songs from Beauty and the Beast and Man of the Mancha.
Outside of the theater, the Luminosa band was playing in Ocean Plaza and they sounded great. I listened for a few minutes and headed to update the blog. The ship has all new entertainers and activities. There is a hawaiian brand ambassador on board and they will be doing Lei making lessons, ukulele lessons, and hula lessons over the next week. In addition, there is now a hawaiian band on the ship. I hope I don't become busy. I sleep well on this ship.
HAPPY CRUISING!
