Carnival Luminosa Day 13: April 24, 2023 80s Throwback Seaday

I seem to have caught a little bit of a cold even though u wear a mask most of the time. I blame ukulele class.
I was up at 745 to prep for room service which came right on time and was perfect for the 3rd day in a row! I ate quickly as they started to clean the balcony.
I headed up for a breakfast burrito.
Unlike all.of the other days on this cruise, there are things going on all day at the same time. I have no way to do everything. I grabbed a schedule and a soduku puzzle before heading to the casino. A man was in the panda slot machine so I grabbed a coffee. On my way back, he hit for $300. That will teach me to wake up late haha. I tried the Tiki machine instead and won 10 dollars which I cashed out for tomorrow.
I headed to a small ukulele group of people who are far more advanced than me. They sound great but I am always playing catch up on my chords. I ran straight to the 80s dance class.
Fortunately, it was a thriller dance class. I took a picture because I have already done one of these on a cruise ship before so I didn't feel like I missed anything.I headed back to the room to prep for the frog race and the horse race. I managed to record the first frog race and headed down to the horse race. It was pretty slow to start so I headed up to the buffet to grab some fruit and a piece of pineapple upside down cake
Back to the horse race in the theater and they were just getting started after a 20 minute delay of people paying cash to bet on a horse. They rolled dice but didn't have any obstacles to make it more fun. All the winners split the pot at the end.
I headed back for a quick nap and then headed to 3 back to back 80s trivia sessions. I did awful at general trivia and TV shows but had a perfect show on 80s music. There were a bunch of us with perfect scores and he played the first clip of beastie boys brass monkey as the tiebreaker. So I got another lanyard.
I got dressed up for the Captains Cocktail Party and headed to the theater.
The captain introduced all the officers and said there were 990 crew now. That is almost a 1:1 crew to passenger ratio at rhe moment.
I headed to the dining room for the second formal dinner of this cruise.
Oysters Rockefeller, lobster bisque (not very good) , lobster tails on mushroom risotto with shrimp, baked Alaska.
The food is so good on formal nights. 80s Throwback day is exactly what carnival should look to for how to improve the future of cruising.
I popped up to watch Back to the Future under the stars for a few minutes.
I headed through the casino and saw friends feeding the panda. Unfortunately, I took a chance and fed the panda some of my credits.
I headed to the show to see Marcus Anthony a soul singer who has performed with patty Labelle and the Supreme. I'm glad they haven't rescheduled the early shows to 8pm like this as I don't want to be tempted by the panda in the adult arcade anymore. My friends dumped another $50 into the panda and hit a nine jackpot for $28. It was a disappointment.
Marcus was a great entertainer and a great singer. I really enjoyed his show.
Sitting in my stateroom as I got ready for bed, the captain announced we were crossing the equator.
It was a great end to a great day.
Happy Cruising!
