Carnival Luminosa Day 1: April 13, 2023 Brisbane

Korean airlines dinner was good. They had an Asian option but I went with the chicken and it was Ok. Economy was adequate. I made the mistake of booking two seats together in the middle row. Best to book each seat on aisle with a spot in the middle and no one would choose that seat. Then we could lay down.
Breakfast was scrambled eggs with cheese.
Star trek first 5 episodes with captain Chris? And spock and kirk as new recruit. Good show but watched all of them and then slept.
Landed Sydney and had to board  Virgin Australia. I had purchased checked luggage smaller bag to meet their requirements. I really wish I had gone large because it didn't matter and they didn't care. Also, a heavy bag just got a heavy tag.
They did not weigh my carry on or give me grief about it. Stressed about nothing.
I stayed at the Brisbane Ibis and was hostage to their food prices. Better to stay somewhere with food options and pat the uber and get cheaper food prices.
Grabbed the cruise shuttle.from rhe hotel. $15AUD person cheap and super convenient. Arrived at 10:50 and long line. Finally boarded at 1:30. Had an 11:30 time slot.

Lunch in the buffet at the Asian spot was Ala cart but they put food on the plate. I liked that. Food was just ok.
Did the ship tour at 2:30 with Dodi. He wad 15 minutes late for the tour.
Unpacked until 5:15 and had an early dinner. Dinner was just ok. Service was quick and efficient.
Went out to the deck and watched a weird heat lightening show the color of sodium lights.  Talked to two entertainers from London area . He will be willy.wonka in flick tomorrow.
Walked around to get used to the ship. Checked out the fun shops to see what they had for sale.
I need to go to lost and found because my hat blew off when boarding the ship. Srimivas fetched it for me.
Puss in boots was playing under the stars but it was too early for me to see at 6pm.
Had to call to request soap in the shower as it was just an empty dispenser.
Welcome show was at 930. The cruise director told us 900 crew and 1900 passengers.

Most of the Welcome show was the cruise director having couples do stupid things on the stage. Then 2 couples the men had to shake ping pong balls out of a box. Both couples got VIP passes with special seats for remaining shows.

Then the singers and dancers did a variety of songs. I was impressed at rhe talent and even the stage prop tiered pyramid that turned. The singers were really good.
Back to the room. Several movie channels on a rotating schedule. Nothing on demand.
Front and back camera as well as ship position and almanac info. No depth info.
BBC news and ABC Australia food channel, travel channel.
I decided to go to bed. Time moves ahead an hour. Many time zones to go.
