Carnival Luminosa Day 4: April 16, 2023 Noumea, New Caledonia
We arrived in Noumea, New Caledonia this morning.
At 650AM the cruise director Jackie Than reminded everyone that the beaches are open on the island but that swimming was prohibited because it was shark infested waters. Also, elevators only go to deck 1 and we exit on deck A which is below that. It will be interesting for sure.
There was another announcement again at 720. Remember your room key card and ID. Use midship elevator. Shark infested waters so you can't swim on the beach. ALL ABOARD IS 315PM. I hope no one was trying to sleep.
Google FI doesn't have coverage in New Caledonia. Us Cellular doesn't have coverage in New Caledonia. Looks like I'll be hunting for wifi today.
I ordered Room Service at 704 and immediately went up for a breakfast burrito. Room Service Breakfast arrived 723 to the room. It was great except they forgot the milk for my coffee.

I actually ate my breakfast on the balcony and watched all the people in a hurry to get off the ship.
Another noisy announcement again at 845. Elevators now go to deck alpha. Another reminder about shark infested waters.
Once off the ship we needed to get on a shuttle bus to the Welcome center. The welcome center had several buildings and we needed to walk back to the tourist information place to get free wifi. I was able to use text messaging but my blog post didn't upload. To use the rest room you needed to ask a security guard who unlocked it for you.

There was a grocery store across the street and I purchased instant coffee and shampoo as well as a couple bottles of water to see if security would take them away. I got back on the ship with no issues two bottles of water richer.
For lunch, I had a 4 cheese pizza with mushrooms and pepperoni and it was delicious. Carnival puts the napkins and silverware by the buffet instead of on the table. I found this to be annoying but perhaps I will get used to it.
I relaxed and watched a TV show while playing sudoku and completely missed music trivia. I did watch as we pulled out of port before getting ready for dinner.
I noted that they deliver bread at the beginning of dinner and don't deliver it again. No.basket of rolls is left on the table anymore. I also have noticed they don't come around with water so now I'm getting two glasses to start at dinner.
After I ordered, I went and looked into the rain as we went between the narrow channel between the two islands.

At dinner I ordered New Zealand Green Lipped Muscles, Braised Rabbit, Kung Pow Chicken, and Apple Pie. I have to say it was pretty tasty.
