Diamond Princess Day 23: 7 Mar 2023 Day at Sea

I woke up and whipped open the curtains to see if I could see anything.... I will say, I do enjoy that first glimpse each day when I have a balcony. I must also confess that there have been way too many sea days on this journey and far too few ports of call. That is the price to pay to see Saipan.... and I'm still so sad that we missed it.

The sunrise did not disappoint. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to run down for my coffee so I just stood in the window and enjoyed it. Caveman TV is always there if I choose to watch it. That said, I do miss my coffee maker in my room like the one I request on Norwegian. I'll be sure to consider that in my after cruise summary. I wish I had thought to order room service and just sat here eating my breakfast. Princess spoils me with that feature and I don't think of it.
Speaking of breakfast, most days, like today, I skip the dining room (repeating menu every few days) and grab a light bite in the Horizon Court buffet.

I went down to the Atrium to watch the life on a cruise ship talk where they discussed what life was like working on the cruise ship when the shutdown happened and how they got home. Princess eventually grouped everyone up by nationality and shipped them home. Which took up to 40 days in some cases for the Asian employees working in the Caribbean.
While at the discussion, I saw the new cruise director Mikuki and Elle recording the morning show for the next day in the library and snapped a picture.
I went to the Horizon Court for lunch (I tried to keep it healthy and light) since tonight is a formal night and a fancy menu in the main dining room. The last picture shows bacon wrapped chicken tenders with cranberry sauce and cooked carrots.
After lunch, I went to see the passenger choir recital.
On the way back to my room, I snapped a picture of many passengers trying on kimonos and having their picture taken.

I had a nice nap and got ready for dinner.
Tonight, I had escargots and dipped the rolls into the butter. It was just as good as Le Bistro on Norwegian. I had twin lobster tails (one of the tails was a bit soggy tonight and I feel like a lobster snob for saying that) and Beef Wellington which was perfect!
For dessert I had a Chocolate Pistachio Dome which was OK and Petit Fours because my waiter brought them. The Petit Fours were delicious.
After dinner I caught the early production show of I got the music. There are 14 singers and dancers plus the house band. They are all really talented. The costumes, music, dancing, and singing are good. I just feel like the story is lacking. In this area, Norwegian seems to be the line to beat in my opinion although they have been cutting their shows.

After the show, I explored the ship a bit and went to bed. Tomorrow is a port day!!!
Happy Cruising!
