Norwegian Bliss Day 6: 12 Jan 2023 Day 6 Panama City Panama
I slept a little later today and managed to get up to the buffet around 8:30. I hadn't booked an excursion because NCL provides a free shuttle bus.
I left the ship around 10 and boarded the shuttle bus for town. The cruise port is still a shell and the roads are unpaved. The bus worked its way through the construction and around a small hill. It then dropped us off at a hotel within easy eyesight of the ship.
Most of the shops were closed. There was a small grocery store and a tackle shop. There were no souvenier shops. A few stray cats that lounged in the sun and some birds in a cage were the most interesting thing available. There were many taxi drivers ready to take you for a spin for $100.
On the way back to the ship, a crane was blocking shuttle busses and our bus had to wait for 15 minutes as they moved dump trucks around to make enough space for the bus to get through.
Back on the ship, I took a nice nap for a couple hours. When I got up at 1pm, the Garden Buffet was packed. I ate a quick salad and headed to the Observation Lounge to play rummukub with some solos.
The Observation lounge is the ships living room. It has comfortable chairs and huge glass windows. It also offers a light lunch, dessert, and drinks. Many people just pass out in chairs.
Around 4, I went to clean up and dress up for solos. The solo coordinator had a megaphone tonight. It was awesome. The solo meetup had a signup sheet for laser tag and the racetrack. I wanted to sign up but I had early reservations both days at Bistro and Cagneys in the 6pm slot. It is very hard to get seated there at those times so I couldnt sign up.

I had accidentally made two reservations for 4 for dinner at 5:30 so I got some other solos an express dinner so they can see Six the musical. I had dinner with 3 solos. Tonight lamb shank was on the menu and it was great!
There weren't a lot of great things to do on the schedule this evening. My dinner companions and I went up to play mini golf and then went down to the Internet desk to request a refund for the day since Internet has been down since afternoon. We watched a gameshow in the Atrium. Around 9, I picked up popcorn in the social and went to my cabin to watch a show on Netflix on my phone.
Internet came back on around 9PM so I was able to make my post for the day.
Happy Cruising!
