Norwegian Bliss: 11 Jan 2023 Day 5 Panama Canal, Panama

Up early to meet in the solo studio lounge at 6:45. Just before 7 our solo coordinator took all the solos down to the front of the ship so we could get a spot out on the bow deck 8.

We had an awesome view as the ship prepared to enter the canal. It started to rain and I stuck it out. As it started to get really wet, I have up and went in to catch the view from another solos cabin who had a balcony.

The observation lounge and garden buffet were packed! Note that as the narrator told uas about the canal and various geographic features it always seemed like we should be looking to.port and we were on the starboard.

We ate lunch in the garden cafe. I explored the ship to find good spots.

At noon, they showed Raiders of the Lost Ark on a big screen in Q restaurant. By the time we entered the lake and I finished lunch, it was really too late to see the movie.

I took a 2 hour nap. When I woke up we were just getting to the point where narration. I went up and spent the rest of the afternoon in the observation lounge (on the starboard side) and once again it seemed like I was on the wrong side.

We passed slowly through the locks and I relaxed in the sun and watched the jungle go by.

Once we came out of the last locks, the ship pulled to the side and it was time to go to dinner. One person waited in line while three solos went to the meeting to get information. Then we jumped back into line for dining by 5:30.

Dinner was quick and we made the 7:30 show by getting to the theater at 7 and finding a seat. By 7:15 seats were hard to find. LIVE THE BEATLES did a bunch of songs from the albums right before Sgt Peppers and I didn't know all of them. It didnt matter because Beatles music is always good. They did an encore and there was time for a snack before waiting for the comedy show.

I miss the days immediately after covid when it was half occupancy. Cruising is back and the ships are packed again.

The seats were filled and the theater was packed. We saw Dylan Mendelson and Johnny Cardinale. Honestly, I have never thought ship comedians were funny. Tonight was not much of an exception. I do think Johnny has musical talent and he is somewhat funny. Would I see it again, no but it was ok to see it once.

I was definitely ready for bed after a long day.

Happy Cruising!
